One way to get involved in the school and the community is through the many extra-curricular programs offered through SAMS. The following is a list of some of the activities offered at SAMS:

Extra Curricular Activities
Art Club Are you interested in painting, drawing, sculpture, or photography?  Art club may be the right place for you.  All students are welcome.  Join us after school on Tuesdays for an hour of art fun
Chorus Club Chorus Club is a singing club open to all SAMS students. The club will meet on Tuesdays, from 2:45-3:30 p.m. Club members will learn some of the same songs that students in the chorus classes are learning. This will allow the club members to participate in the school field trips when the chorus goes out into the community to perform.
Drama Club
All roles have been cast for the first semester production of COYOTE'S CHRISTMAS CAROL and the second semester production of THE WATSON'S GO TO BIRMINGHAM.  Groups will be meeting every Tuesday and Thursday after school in preparation for the big shows!
Junior Science & Humanities Symposium This is a year long project in which students students design, construct and carry out their own scientific experiments.  They present their findings at a DoDDS wide symposium in Tuskuba City, Japan in the Spring.  This is the only Far East event in which 8th graders are allowed to take part in.

This is a great place for both boys and girls to represent our fantastic middle school!.  Practices are held mid-February until the end of March.  We are able to compete against other foreign/international schools in and around Seoul. Most games are played on Saturdays with practices twice/three times per week.  Any 6th, 7th, or 8th grade SAMS student can join the team.

Required Sports Forms

All students interested in the sports activities must have 3 documents on file with the Athletic Director before they can practice or compete in SAMS Athletics. The 3 documents needed are; Sports Physical, Medical Power of Attorney, & Student Code of Conduct.

Parents are strongly encouraged to put their child on a waitlist at the 121 Hospital(DSN: 737-2273) if they are having difficulty securing a timely Sports Pysical appointment. Documents submitted to SAMS will not be returned - in any format(electronically, hard copy, etc.). Return (to SAMS front office staff or to SAMS Athletic Director) your child's completed packet in an envelope marked: Attention SAMS Athletic Director, Re: Athletics Packet

And don't forget about all of the activities and sports offered through the Youth Services here at Yongsan.

**Most SAMS after school activities will take place on Tuesday and Thursday from 1445-1545. Buses will leave at 1555. To minimize travel time and service the community, the activity bus routes are established to a limited number of centrally located bus stops. If you are in a school activity the sponsor will issue a bus pass for the activity bus. Activity buses will be available for students who stay after school for sponsored activities, only.**
